THIS WEEK, WE WANT TO JOIN IN WITH OTHERS TO PRAY FOR BAHRAIN.
The Lord loves the Bahraini people. So do we. Please join us in praying for the dear people of Bahrain, especially at this time of Ramadan.
In the ancient world Bahrain was the center of where pearls were found and traded. Pearls were the most precious objects in the ancient world, more precious than diamonds. The history of the pearling industry is still a large part of culture and tradition in Bahrain. The Bahrain Pearling Trail is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it." Matthew 13:45-46.
The Bahraini people might think that the Lord had a person from their country in mind when he taught this parable.
• What is "The kingdom of heaven? It is where the King of Heaven rules over the souls of men and women and gives them Eternal Life. The King of Heaven is the Lord Jesus Christ who suffered and died to pay for the sins of the people who would come into His Kingdom. Pray that Bahrainis would come to know the truth of the Kingdom of Heaven and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Why is the Kingdom of God like a pearl of great value? God's Kingdom is eternal. Those who are in God's Kingdom have eternal life. This is far more precious, far more valuable than anything in this world. Pray that Bahrainis would come to know the exceeding value of the Kingdom of Heaven.
• Why did the man who found the pearl sell all he had to buy it? The man needed to personally take possession of the pearl of great value. The price of the pearl was all that he previously thought was valuable. He had to give up control of his life, his own self-will, in order to have the Lord Jesus Christ become King of his life. The Lord Jesus Christ must rule your life as King for you to enter into His eternal Kingdom. Pray that Bahrainis would give control of their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.
There are some dear people of Bahrain who have already given their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and are citizens of the Kingdom of God. Please pray for them to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Please pray for them to be able to meet together and worship the Lord in spirit and truth in their own Bahraini church.
